The Nebraska PGA Cup Series promotes the involvement of Nebraska PGA Members and Associates in Section Activities. Those Members and Associates who participate in Section Tournaments, Section Meetings and other functions that benefit the growth and development of The PGA Professional will receive “Cup Points.” Points will be earned throughout the year to determine the most active Members and Associates in the selected activities. The top 28 Cup Points recipients will then be invited to play in the Nebraska PGA Cup Series Championship presented by Vinnie Krikac, State Farm Insurance Agency, on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Highlands Golf Course.
The Cup Series Championship will feature a day of camaraderie, golf, food and fun. The 28 participants will be paired up into two-player teams and will compete in a two-person Best Ball on the Front 9 and a Scramble format on the Back 9, with an $8,000 purse. Five teams will make it into a shootout to determine the Champion. Following the Championship, players will be treated to appetizers and an awards ceremony with the presentation of the Cup by Vinnie Krikac Insurance Agency.
Events will be broken down into one of three categories. Participation in “Cup Series Events”— sponsored by Vinnie Krikac, State Farm Insurance Agency— will be worth 7 points and Tournament Player Points. Participation in selected Championship events will be worth 10 points. All other pro-ams, pro-only events and specified Section Activities will be worth 5 points.
