Omaha, Nebraska – Spring was in the air as temperatures were in the mid-70’s and welcomed Nebraska PGA Professionals to The Players Club at Deer Creek for the Club Car/Coors Light and Arnold Palmer Spiked Pro-Pro-Pro.  This event featured a new format with a one-best-ball of the three players and a professional skins game.  Early on it was evident everyone was shaking off some winter rust with the exception of the team of Mike Antonio, PGA of Happy Hollow Club, Jon Petersen, PGA of Tibruon G.C. and Ryan Vermeer, PGA of Happy Hollow Club who opened up with a six-under-par 30 on their outward nine-holes.  Petersen got their team going with back to back birdies on their third and fourth holes and then the team birdied their final four holes.  On their inward nine-holes they went on a par stretch for five holes and Vermeer made a timely birdie on the number one handicap hole on the course and everyone birdied their final hole for a tournament best eight-under-par 63.  They squeaked by four other teams that finished at seven-under-par 64.  Shane Zywiec, PGA of Highlands G.C. had the second skin of the day with an eagle on the par 5 18th hole.

The Nebraska Section PGA would like to thank co-presenting sponsors, Nebraska Golf & Turf (Club Car) and regional representative, Don Brudny, Coors Light and Arnold Palmer Spiked.  In addition, we would like to thank our supporting sponsors, VW Golf Grips, Marc Cruse, PGA, teesnap and Enterprise Sales Representative, Barry Hilton, Cutter & Buck and regional sales representative, RJ Palmer, OMEGA and PGA TOUR Tournaments for their support.  Lastly, this event would not be possible without the support of The Players Club professional staff led by General Manager, Tim Halpine, PGA Professional, Don Germer and Golf Course Superintendent, Ahren Wonderlich.
