Omaha, NE – Capping off the 2022 Nebraska PGA Tournament season, The Club at Indian Creek hosted the NEPGA Facilities Championship Pro-Am, presented by Vinnie Krikac’s State Farm Insurance Agency, Coors Light and White Claw Hard Seltzer. 18 teams of four made up of one PGA Professional and three amateurs competed in a best ball modified Stableford event that featured the final round hole locations from the 2022 Pinnacle Bank Championship, presented by Aetna.
In the team event, Shane Zywiec, PGA of Highlands Golf Course and his amateur teammates Craig Kubicek, Ryan Remmes and Dillon Ruether defended their title to go back-to-back after an impressive showing. Their foursome scored six or more points on 15 of the 18 holes including 11 on No. 4 to finish with 119. Counting their two best net scores each hole, they shot 22-under to finish the year strong. Ryan Vermeer, PGA of Happy Hollow Club and his amateur teammates Chad McMahon, Dave Ping and Andy Mallory finished runner-up with 117 points.
Leading his team to the title, Shane Zywiec, PGA captured his first solo victory of the season after firing an impressive 5-under 67 that led to 50 points in the Stableford format. Zywiec’s day included six birdies, an eagle and a bogey-free back nine. Finishing right behind Zywiec was Ryan Vermeer, PGA with 46 points of his own. Vermeer shot 4-under with six birdies to end another season on a great note. Finishing tied for third was Jay Cottam, PGA of Meadowlark Hills Golf Course and Brady Schnell of Firethorn Golf Club with 43 points. Rounding out the top five, Steve Friesen, PGA of Firethorn Golf Club scored 42 points to take solo fifth.
