VERMEER STAYS HOT AND CAPTURES LOW-PROFESSIONAL HONORS AT FREMONT GOLF CLUB

Fremont, NE. – Scorching heat welcomed Nebraska PGA Professionals and their teams of Amateurs to Fremont Golf Club for a two-net best ball tournament. Ryan Vermeer of Happy Hollow Club went on to fire a round of 66 (5-under) to win low-Professional honors for the third straight event. Vermeer’s victory comes after top-finishes at last week’s PGA REACH Nebraska Pro-Am and the 2020 Nebraska Section PGA Professional Championship.

Ryan Vermeer got off to a quick start on the first nine at Fremont with five birdies highlighted by a birdie, birdie, birdie finish on holes 7, 8 and 9. After going out in 31, Vermeer fired a bogey-free 35 on the back to notch another impressive round and top-place finish. After this victory, Vermeer has continued to grow his lead in the 2020 Omega Nebraska Section PGA Player of the Year Race.

Host PGA Golf Professional Tony Baranowski and his team of Amateurs represented by Eric Seitz, Matt Andersen and Joel Cook went on to win the team division after combining to shoot 16-under in the two-net best ball format. Baranowski fired an even round of 71 to lead his team which was also good enough for fourth-overall in the Professional division.
