THREE PLAYERS SHARE LOW-PROFESSIONAL HONORS AT THE 2020 GOLF FORE THE TROOPS PRO-AM

Lincoln, NE. – Hot temperatures and inconsistent winds welcomed our Nebraska PGA Professionals to the 2020 Golf FORE The Troops Pro-Am at Wilderness Ridge G.C. Seven Nebraska PGA Professionals shot under-par during a fantastic day of golf while three of them tied for low-Professional honors. Mike Coatman of Firethorn Golf Club, Tony Baranowksi, PGA of Fremont Golf Club, and Scott Holly, PGA of the University of Nebraska’s PGA Golf Management Program tied with a very impressive three-under-par 68. Judd Cornell, PGA of The Players Club and Sarah Pravecek, PGA of Wilderness Ridge Golf Club finished one-stroke back at 2-under-par while Golf Galaxy’s Ted DiGiacomo, PGA and Firethorn Golf Club’s Steve Friesen, PGA finished two-back at one-under-par.

The team competition featuring a two-net format finished with Alex Carper, PGA and his team of amateur partners at 25-under-par in just 18 holes to run away with the division. Alex Carper and his amateur partners, Steve Carper, Jeff Barclay and Scott Ritter went bogey-free with ten birdies and seven eagles while they parred just one hole. Finishing four strokes back in second place was Jonathan Beaver of Landsmeer G.C and his team of amateurs at 21-under-par.

The special day also featured the 14^th anniversary of the Golf FORE The Troops Pro-Am presented by Nelnet, Baxter Toyota, Baxter Dodge/Jeep and Bowman & Krieger Law Firm. Since the inception of this event it has raised over $200,000 in scholarships to Nebraska children of active military personnel serving here at home or abroad.
