Gothenburg, NE – Wild Horse Golf Club welcomed 25 Nebraska PGA Professionals and their amateur teams for the 2025 308 Cup Pro-Am, presented by Chesterman Co. Coca-Cola. This year’s event featured a notable change — for the first time, Nebraska PGA Professionals from outside the 308 area code were eligible to compete, though only 308-based players were eligible for the trophy finishes.

In the Professional-only division, competitors played a Stableford format, where points were awarded based on performance — double eagle (10 points), eagle (7), birdie (4), par (2), and bogey (1). The team competition followed a similar structure, with two-net best balls counting toward the team score. The event began at 10:00 a.m. with a shotgun start under windy, challenging conditions.

In the Professional-only division, Caleb Badura of Jackrabbit Run Golf Course delivered a steady performance, carding three birdies and four bogeys to post 38 points. Among the 308-eligible players, Badura topped the leaderboard to earn Professional honors. Close behind, Trevor Chesnut, PGA of Scotts Bluff Country Club, secured runner-up honors with 37 points.

Among all Professionals in the field, Ryan Vermeer, PGA of Happy Hollow Club recorded the standout round of the day. Vermeer played a bogey-free 67 (5-under), highlighted by three birdies and an eagle, amassing 47 points to lead all competitors. Brady Schnell of Firethorn Golf Club followed with an impressive 43 points, finishing second overall.

In the team event, Adam Speck, PGA of The Prairie Club joined forces with Scott Speck, Brady Preitauer, and Landen Haake. The team got off to a fast start and maintained their lead throughout the day. Steady pars proved crucial, with timely birdies from Adam Speck and Brady Preitauer helping to secure a winning total of 110 points, four points ahead of the field.

Finishing in second place with 106 points was the team led by Travis Anderson, PGA of Wild Horse Golf Club, along with teammates Taylor Walker, Jeff Harm, and Jason Wagner. Rounding out the top three was Shane Zywiec, PGA of Highlands Golf Course, who partnered with Nate Modlin, CJ Farber, and Greg Ernst. Modlin delivered the shot of the day, scoring a hole-in-one on the par-3 4th hole — a remarkable feat into a stiff 25 mph headwind from 159 yards.

We extend our sincere thanks to Director of Golf Tony Collins, PGA, Head Golf Professional Justin Henry, PGA, Superintendent Josh Mahar, and the entire Wild Horse Golf Club staff for their outstanding hospitality and support.

A special thank you to our presenting sponsor Chesterman Co. Coca-Cola, along with supporting sponsors Sterling Cut Glass, Vinnie Krikac’s State Farm Insurance Agency, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka, whose contributions made this event possible.
