Elkhorn, NE – Presented by Vinnie Krikac’s State Farm Insurance Agency, Coors Light, White Claw Hard Seltzer, and Twisted Tea, 22 teams competed at Indian Creek Experience in another exciting Section Pro-Am event. Groups representing facilities from across the Section battled throughout the day for a chance to take home the trophy.
The Professional format was Individual Stroke Play with Modified Stableford scoring, while the team format was 2-Net Best-Ball, also with Modified Stableford scoring. In both events, double eagles were worth 10 points, eagles 7 points, birdies 4 points, pars 1 point, and bogeys -1 point.
In the Professional-only competition, Justin Herron, PGA of Oak Hills Country Club and Brady Schnell of Firethorn Golf Club finished tied atop the leaderboard with 47 points. Herron carded seven birdies on the day, while Schnell added six of his own as both players turned in steady rounds to share first-place honors.
Ryan Vermeer, PGA of Happy Hollow Club finished just one point back in solo third with an impressive total of 46 points. Jon Petersen, PGA and Carson Schaake of Tiburon Golf Club joined Andrew Storm, PGA of The Players Club of Omaha at 45 points, with the trio sharing fourth place.
In the team competition, the group of Justin Herron, PGA, Dave Kryger, Ryan Stevens, and Josh Sapp completed the event sweep by claiming the trophy with 112 points. The foursome finished tied with Team Jon Petersen, but earned the victory in a scorecard playoff after recording two net birdies on the No. 1 handicap hole, No. 3, to bring the trophy back to their club.

The Nebraska Section PGA is a non-for-profit organization comprised of over 340 PGA Members and PGA Associates who strive to promote the enjoyment and growth of the game of golf. The Nebraska Section PGA encompasses the entire State of Nebraska, western fifth of Iowa and a small portion of South Dakota including Dakota Dunes and Yankton.
