Las Vegas, NV – Presented by Callaway Golf, Harris Golf Cars – Yamaha and Vinnie Krikac’s State Farm Insurance Agency, Nebraska PGA Professionals and their teams of Amateurs competed in the desert for the 34th Annual Nebraska PGA Vegas Classic. The three-round tournament is played with a stableford format where teams collected points depending on their score each hole. The first two rounds saw windy conditions at both DragonRidge Country Club and Cascata Golf Club before a perfect final round at Rio Secco Golf Club.

In the team division, Tim Kruse, PGA of Golf Galaxy – Omaha was joined by Jeff Wessel, Bob Klopnieski, Brock Peters and Aaron Knuth for the second year in a row. Their squad got off to a hot start by carding 110 points after the opening round at DragonRidge CC. Unlike their wire-to-wire win in 2023, they had to battle back after stumbling in the second round by collecting just 107 points which was tied for sixth on the day. To complete the back-to-back win, they needed to respond in a big way at Rio Secco GC. With just three holes left, Team Kruse was 8 points behind Team Friesen before carding 31 points in their final three holes to overtake the lead. They finished with a single round best score on the week with 121 points during the final round to make their total 338 points in route to their second victory in as many years.

In the Professional-only division, more than 10 Nebraska PGA Professionals came into the final round with a chance to win. With perfect scoring conditions, birdies were flying across the course and incredible scores were posted led by Trevor Chesnut, PGA of Scotts Bluff Country Club and Shane Zywiec, PGA of Highlands Golf Course. Both players had birdie looks on their final holes to take the outright lead but neither were able to find the bottom of the cup. The two NEPGA Professionals finished at 118 points on the week to tie for low-Professional honors.

We would like to thank the Professional staffs at DragonRidge CC, Cascata GC and Rio Secco GC for hosting this tournament once again.  We would also like to thank Callaway Golf, Harris Golf Cars – Yamaha and Vinnie Krikac’s State Farm Insurance Agency for making this event possible while supporting our Nebraska PGA Members. We appreciate every player that made the trip out to Vegas for this event and we sincerely hope you enjoyed every second of it. We look forward to kicking off the rest of the season later in April.
