Elkhorn, NE – The Nebraska Section PGA tournament season began back in April, and it all came to an end today at The Club at Indian Creek for the season finale Facilities Championship Pro-Am, presented by Vinnie Krikac’s State Farm Insurance Agency, Coors Light & White Claw Hard Seltzer. 29 teams of Nebraska PGA Professionals partnered with amateurs from their facilities in a Pro-Am event played with a stableford format. Eagles were worth seven points while birdies were 4 points, pars were two points and so on. In addition to the team event, the NEPGA Professionals competed against each other in an individual stroke play stableford format.

In the Professional-only division, Andrew Storm, PGA of Shadow Ridge Country Club and Jon Petersen, PGA of Tiburon Golf Club finished with 45 total points to tie at the top. Storm and Petersen were both 4-under on their own balls with five birdies and just one bogey each. Finishing in solo third was Happy Hollow Club’s Ted DiGiacomo, PGA at 43 points while Ryan Vermeer, PGA of Happy Hollow Club and Brady Schnell of Firethorn Golf Club both finished with 41 points to tie for fourth. 23 Nebraska PGA Professionals scored at least 30 points for an impressive showing to cap off the year.

In the Nebraska PGA Facilities Championship team event, Team Firethorn Golf Club consisting of PGA Professional Mike Coatman, Scot Moore, Aaron Burd and Chad Mertens went onto to be the lone team to reach triple digits. They scored 102 points on the day with an even 51-51 split between the two nines. They got off to a blazing start with 29 points in their first four holes and this propelled them to a momentum filled day where they never looked back.
