Omaha, NE – Presented by Miller & Sons Golf Cars (E-Z-GO), 29 teams of Nebraska PGA Professionals and their amateur partners competed at Oak Hills Country Club in another NEPGA Pro-Am event after the original date was postponed earlier in the season due to rain. This time around, the field was welcomed by a beautiful day and ideal scoring conditions.

The Professional format featured Individual Stroke Play, while the team competition used 2 Net Best Ball on the Par 4s and Par 5s and 3 Net Best Ball on the Par 3s.

In the Professional competition, Tiburon Golf Club’s Carson Schaake set the early pace with a smooth 4-under 67, a score that would ultimately earn him a tie for second place. His round held up near the top of the leaderboard until late in the day, when Firethorn Golf Club’s Brady Schnell and Players Club of Omaha’s Andrew Storm, PGA, each posted stellar rounds of 5-under to share Low Professional honors.

Joining Schaake at 4-under and tied for second was Mark Foelbaek, PGA, of the Country Club of Lincoln. In total, eight Nebraska PGA Professionals finished the day in red figures.

In the team competition, Brad Bailey, PGA, Mark Carlson, Jeff Hruska, and Matt Palmberg came out firing, opening their round 7-under through the first eight holes and never looking back. The group recorded eight net eagles on the day and ran away with the division, finishing at an impressive 18-under to win by eight shots.

Finishing runner-up in the team competition was Wayne Country Club’s Kyle Schellpeper, PGA, alongside amateur partners Rich Rethwisch, Doug Rose, and Kevin Peterson.

A special thank-you goes to General Manager Bobby O’Keefe, PGA, and the entire professional staff at Oak Hills Country Club for hosting another outstanding Nebraska PGA event.
