Omaha, NE – Oak Hills Country Club hosted 34 teams of Nebraska PGA Professionals and their amateur partners for another Pro-Am, presented by Miller & Sons Golf Cars (E-Z-Go). Tee times began at 8:30am and ran till 3:00pm for a full day of action. Consistent windy conditions stayed around for the entire day making it one of the toughest days for scoring so far this season.
In the Professional-only field, Carson Schaake of Tiburon Golf Club and Mark Foelbaek, PGA of the Country Club of Lincoln shared honors with impressive rounds of 69 (2-under). Foelbaek picks up his first Professional win of the season while Schaake stayed hot and added to his impressive resume early in the year.
Finishing in solo third was Seth Porter, PGA of The Club at Indian Creek with a solid round of 70 (1-under). Schaake, Foelbaek and Porter represented the only three rounds under par showing how impressive their play was in the windy conditions. Finishing in solo fourth with an even par round was Tony Baranowski, PGA of Platteview Golf Club.
In the team event, Nebraska PGA Professionals joined three amateurs to play through a unique format with two net scores counting on the par 4’s and par 5’s while 3 net scores were counted on the par 3’s.
After 18 holes of action, two teams tied to share the title at 9-under par for the day. Mark Foelbaek, PGA of the Country Club of Lincoln teamed up with Bill Maly, Braden Kleinschmidt and Fred Phelan while the host Professional Samuel Martin, PGA of Oak Hills Country Club teamed up with Ryan Remmes, John Reiss and John Reiss Jr. The two squads played impressive golf in tough conditions to share low-team honors.
