LINCOLN, NE – PGA REACH Nebraska, the charitable arm of the Nebraska Section PGA is excited to announce two newly elected Board Members. Lincoln natives Bethany Clark and Chris Ober are the latest additions to the Foundation’s Board and they look to leave a lasting impact on our surrounding community by positively impacting lives through the game of golf.

Bethany Clark was born and raised in Lincoln, NE and continued her education at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. At UNL she got her bachelor’s degree in business administration and her teaching endorsement in business, marketing, and information technology. She also earned a Master’s degree in teaching, learning, and teacher education. She worked for five years as a business and technology teacher at Yutan High School. Currently, Bethany also substitutes teaches as well as works part-time as an administrative and technology assistant for Kicks for a Cure, a nonprofit supporting cancer research in Omaha.

“As a Board Member of PGA REACH Nebraska and being a teacher at heart, I am most excited about continuing to provide schools with the resources necessary to have golf be part of their physical education programs and athletics program,” said Clark.

Chris Ober earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration – Finance from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (2006). Following graduation, Chris began his professional career at Ameritas and today serves as a Regional Manager of Group Sales within their employee benefits division. He shares his passion for the game with his wife, Michelle, who is also an avid golfer. Ober’s community involvement includes the Executive Leadership Team – American Heart Association – Lincoln Chapter (prior), the 2018-2019 cohort of the University of Nebraska Young Alumni Academy and he currently serves on the Executive Committee of the 15th Club which is the ambassador arm for the Pinnacle Bank Championship.

“All my fondest memories of the game are not about the golf itself but rather the people you were with and the places you were visiting. Many of my closest personal and professional relationships were molded around golf. Finding ways to “pay it forward” are important to me which is why I am incredibly excited to join the PGA Reach Nebraska Board,” said Ober.

Clark and Ober share visions and initiatives that directly align with PGA REACH Nebraska and its mission of positively impacting lives in our community through the game of golf. From the Foundation’s current programming to the next steps PGA REACH Nebraska will take in the future, the duo will play an instrumental role in the planning and execution of the mission to grow the game while making it accessible to people who might not have the opportunity without our programming.

“Bethany and Chris will make great additions to our Board. They are very passionate and self-driven and they will continue to help us make a positive impact in our communities through the game of golf,” said David Honnens, PGA, the Executive Director and CEO of the Nebraska Section PGA.
