Lincoln, NE – The Nebraska PGA Section is proud to announce Mark Mooberry, PGA, Teaching Professional at Eagle Hills Golf Course, as the May recipient of the Wilson Sporting Goods Game Ball Award. This monthly recognition honors Nebraska PGA Professionals who make a significant impact on the game through leadership, service, and dedication to their communities.
A 52-year U.S. Army Veteran and longtime advocate for fellow Veterans, Mooberry has become a cornerstone of PGA HOPE Nebraska programming. Serving as the lead instructor for the Eagle Hills PGA HOPE program, he has helped create a welcoming environment where Veterans can learn the game of golf while building meaningful connections with one another.
In addition, Mooberry has been involved with PGA HOPE Nebraska since its inception in 2018. His unique ability to connect with participants stems not only from his experience as a PGA Professional but also from his own military service, allowing him to relate to Veterans in a way few others can.
Through weekly instruction, drills, and friendly competitions, Mooberry has helped countless Veterans gain confidence on the golf course while fostering relationships that extend well beyond the game itself. His passion for teaching and serving others has made a lasting impact on PGA HOPE participants throughout the Nebraska Section.
“First of all, let me say I’m very grateful for being selected to receive the Wilson Game Ball,” said Mooberry. “Recognition like this is a little more special knowing that the nomination comes from fellow Section Professionals whom I work alongside.”
Mooberry was also quick to recognize those who have helped make PGA HOPE successful at Eagle Hills Golf Course.
“It’s a benefit having Eagle Hills Golf Course as the original facility to host PGA HOPE classes,” he said. “Also, a big thank you to Eagle Hills’ GM Rob Spomer, PGA.”

While Mooberry has been involved with numerous PGA programs throughout his career, PGA HOPE has left a particularly meaningful impression.
“For me, over the years, I’ve been involved in other local and national PGA programs, but nothing has been as impactful as PGA HOPE,” said Mooberry. “Maybe I was initially attracted to the program because I too am a Veteran for over 52 years. But now, after being involved with PGA HOPE for several years, I’ve found it’s something I truly look forward to doing.”
The relationships formed through the program and the positive impact it continues to have on participants are what motivate him to remain involved year after year.
“My reward is being involved with really fun people learning a really fun game,” he said. “This program does great things for lots of people and the positive outcomes are easy to see.”
As a Veteran, mentor, and PGA Professional, Mooberry embodies the mission of PGA HOPE and the values of the Nebraska PGA Section. His unwavering commitment to serving those who have served our country has helped make the game of golf more accessible, enjoyable, and impactful for countless Veterans across Nebraska and Iowa.
The Nebraska PGA Section congratulates Mark Mooberry, PGA on being named the May Wilson Sporting Goods Game Ball Award recipient and thanks him for his continued dedication to PGA HOPE Nebraska and the game of golf. Nominations for the next Wilson Sporting Goods Monthly Game Ball will open on June 1st and will close at 11:59 PM on June 15th.
