Juelfs and Company Sweep Inaugural 308 Cup

Gothenburg, NE – Limited to PGA Professionals and their amateur partners residing in Central & Western Nebraska, our inaugural Nebraska PGA 308 Cup Pro-Am took place at Wild Horse Golf Club today. On a chilly and rainy day, the home of the ‘Wooga’ welcomed our field and delivered typical challenges the weather can bring any given day. With that said, more than half the field shot under-par and impressive scores were posted in the team game.

Beginning with our Professional-only division, our field battled in a modified stabledford scoring format with double eagles being worth ten points, eagles were seven, birdies were four, pars were two and so on. 18-holes wasn’t enough to decide our first Professional champion in event history after Max Hadenfeldt, PGA of Scottsbluff Country Club, Lance Juelfs of Hillside Golf Course and Matt Shaner, PGA of Golf Fit USA all tied at 43 points. After a birdie in the playoff, Juelfs won his first Nebraska Section PGA Professional event and became our inaugural 308 Cup victor.

In the team event and alongside his amateur playing partners, Juelfs decided he would sweep the entire event. Along with Lance Juelfs great play, his amateurs Lane Juelfs, Spencer Vierow and Nate Totten backed him up in a great way. After scoring 108 points, they went onto win the team event by six points with Adam Speck, PGA of The Prairie Club and his playing partners finishing in second with 102 points. Rounding out our top-3 in the team division was Trevor Chestnut, PGA of Scottsbluff Country Club and his amateur partners with their team total of 100 points.

We would like to thank both Chesterman Co. Coca-Cola and Sterling Cut Glass for supporting this event and our PGA Professionals as well as everyone that teed it up in the inaugural event. We are excited for the future of the 308 Cup and look forward to increasing participation in the coming years.
