LINCOLN, NE – It’s with heavy hearts that we share with all of you that we lost Honorary Nebraska PGA Member, Jack Crowley on Friday, November 15, 2024. Jack was 86 years old.
Jack was born in Kearney on October 21, 1938, to Edward and Marie (Dougherty) Crowley. He graduated from Kearney High School, obtained his bachelor’s degree from Kearney State College, and an MBA from Ohio State University. Jack married Judith Hellman on June 6, 1960.
During his time he worked as the Executive Director of the Central Community College Foundation, he partnered with the Nebraska Section PGA and the Nebraska Public Power District to revamp the Nebraska Open golf tournament. The tournament recently celebrated it’s 33rd year and more than $2 million in scholarships has been raised and donated to local students within the Nebraska Community College system.
During the week of the 2024 Wells Fargo Nebraska Open, Honorary Nebraska PGA Member, Jack Crowley was surprised with the Nebraska Section PGA adding his name to the trophy. Many Nebraska PGA Members reflected on Jack at their annual Fall Meeting and what he meant to the golf business and his surrounding community.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Judy Crowley, his daughters Betsy Egan, Julie (Richard) Kokrda, Cyndie (Mike) Wiesen, and son Michael (Wendee) Crowley and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The Nebraska Section PGA Board of Directors, Officers, Staff and more than 340 PGA Members and Associates send their deepest condolences to the Crowley family during this difficult time.
Services include an open house with family present at Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home on Sunday, November 24 from 3:00-5:00. Funeral mass at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Monday, November 25 at 11:00. (Rosary at 10:30) In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Hastings Catholic Schools Foundation or Catholic Social Services. The service will be live-streamed on the funeral home’s website.
