DiGIACOMO CAPTURES LOW-PROFESSIONAL HONORS ON DAY MILITARY HEROS WERE HONORED

Omaha, NE. – Nebraska PGA Professionals and their teams of Amateurs came together for a new event at Tiburon Golf Club to support our communities Veterans. The inaugural  Honoring Military Heroes’ Pro-Am was held today at Tiburon Golf Club where the funds raised from the event would directly benefit both the Moving Veterans Forward organization and Offutt Chief’s Group. Moving Veterans Forward is dedicated to helping homeless Veterans in Iowa and Nebraska find new homes. Offutt Chief’s Group is an elite group of Supervisors at Offutt Air Force Base that have the responsibility of overseeing the training and development of young airmen.

Through the wind and 27-holes at Tiburon G.C., incredible scores were posted all across the board. Playing all three nine-hole courses, Ted DiGiacomo, PGA of Golf Galaxy Omaha finished at 6-under-par to win low-Professional honors. DiGiacomo went 35-34-33 and bettered himself on each nine to put together a solid day which continues his stellar season. Sharing low-team honors at 18-under-par were teams led by PGA Professionals TJ Loudner, PGA of Tiburon Golf Club and Shane Zywiec, PGA of Highlands Golf Course.

Today was about honoring our American heroes and giving back to them after all they gave to us.  The money raised for Moving Veterans Forward will provide furniture for 30 brand-new apartments for homeless Veterans in our community. The money the Offutt Chief’s Group receives will provide assistance to Airmen who might be struggling financially.
