Cottam, Klooz and Troudt Squeaked Passed The Field To Capture Professional Only Event

Omaha, Nebraska – Summer was in the air and temperatures were as hot as the teams at The Players Club at Deer Creek for the Club Car/Coors Light and White Claw Pro-Pro-Pro. This event featured a fun format with a one-best-ball of the three players, scramble and modified alternate shot. The team of Jay Cottam, Mitch Klooz and Cody Troudt were the first in the clubhouse to post a fourteen-under-par 92. Joining them late in the day were the teams of Bob Walker, Matthew Nelson, Scott Harmelink and Pete Hagen, Don Germer and Judd Cornell. Cottam, Klooz and Troudt started slow with a three-under-par 32 on their outward nine-holes in the best ball format. They caught fire on the second nine-holes in the scramble format with an eight-under-par 28. On the last nine holes they gained strokes on the field by going three-under-par on the modified alternate format. A three-way tie forced a playoff where team Cottam/Klooz/Troudt won after a birdie putt on the second hole.
