Lincoln, NE – In 2021, PGA REACH Nebraska, the charitable arm of the Nebraska Section PGA introduced ‘Clubs FORE Youth’, the newest of their programs with a mission to positively impact lives through the game of golf.
PGA REACH Nebraska worked with the Nebraska Schools Activities Association to conduct a study covering more than 70 High School Girls Golf programs across the state to identify barriers to golf for girls. The results were staggering. The study found that 56% of the girls in Nebraska competing in high school golf do not use their own clubs and 43% of the equipment used was outdated, broken, or borderline unusable.
In an effort to fix this glaring problem, PGA REACH Nebraska created Clubs FORE Youth with the goal of fully equipping High School Girl’s Golf programs in need of resources and equipment assistance. In four years since the inception of the program, PGA REACH Nebraska has donated more than 200 sets of brand new Callaway clubs and push carts to 40 High School Girls Golf programs across the Nebraska Section. In addition to the equipment, the players and coaches receive PGA instruction during the summer.
PGA REACH Nebraska is proud to announce the 10 high school girls golf programs selected in 2025. This program is designed to break down barriers to participation and empower high school students—especially those who may not otherwise have access—with the tools they need to learn and enjoy the game of golf.

2025 Clubs FORE Youth Recipients

Cozad High School
Reaction from Coach Jordan Haarberg:
When I received the message, I was absolutely thrilled! As someone who is new to both golfing and coaching having just started last summer, I instantly understood the tremendous impact this opportunity would have on our program. For the Cozad Girls Golf team, being selected for Clubs FORE Youth is not just a privilege, but a game-changer. Last season, one of our players had to borrow an outdated set of clubs from a family friend, which made it difficult for her to perform at her best, especially as a beginner. This year, we’re already seeing an increase in interest and participation particularly from girls who are brand new to the sport. I can’t wait to take them on this journey!

Eustis-Farnam Public Schools
Reaction from Coach Charles Corkern:
To be selected for the Clubs FORE Youth program means that our girls have a chance to now compete on an even playing field with the correct equipment. When I received the call, I felt so excited for the girls. Our program is new and some of our girls are using their dads or grandfathers’ old clubs. It’s amazing to see the sport I love grow so fast! Girls golf all over the country is growing at a tremendous rate. The continued support from the PGA REACH Nebraska is helping keep our state competitive with the rest of the country.

Fullerton High School
Reaction from Coach Shawn Ostransky:
When I got the news, I was ecstatic. I am hoping this will go a long way to getting more girls out for girls golf here in Fullerton. This is very crucial for us. Currently, I have 2 girls using Top Flight sets that were purchased 3-5 years ago. I have another who is using her brother’s clubs when he was in high school 6 years ago. Being able to give them quality equipment and a complete set should help each one of them improve their game over the summer. This is an awesome program that goes a long way in getting girls and youth on the golf course.

Holdrege High School
Reaction from Coach Craig Hall:
To be selected for Clubs FORE Youth means that we now have the opportunity to provide access to equipment for players who don’t already have that access. We have the ability to grow the game of golf by increasing our numbers and creating lifelong lovers of the game. Although our numbers are okay, I know this will open avenues for young ladies to want to try the game. PGA REACH Nebraska has an invested interest in growing the game especially the women’s side, and that means a lot to a coach.

Lincoln North Star High School
Reaction from Coach Scott Friesen:
We have been applying for several years and we are very happy for this program and the opportunities they are giving programs around the state. The program has done so much to grow the sport of golf for all female athletes and it has led to increased participation in many girls golf programs across the state. Through the donation of this equipment, I expect to see our numbers of girl athletes that participate in golf to continue to increase at our school.

South Sioux City High School
Reaction from Coach Matt Jenness:
I was surprised and excited to receive the call. This is such a great program and opportunity for our girls. They will not only get the opportunity to use some new, really nice clubs, but also get to get some high-level coaching from a PGA Professional. This will be huge for our program and we are so grateful! It is awesome to see someone giving back to the student athletes, especially girls. Girls golf can often get overlooked or seen as a secondary sport, so it is awesome for these girls to not only get some much needed support, but also some recognition as well!

St. Paul High School
Reaction from Coach Ashley Lynch:
Being selected for Clubs FORE Youth means the world to our program. It’s more than just receiving equipment—it’s about opportunity, access, and empowerment for our girls. Many of our student-athletes wouldn’t otherwise have access to proper golf gear or the resources to pursue the game seriously, so this support truly levels the playing field. This will be a turning point for our program. We're ready to take our team to the next level, and this opportunity makes that possible.

Wahoo High School
Reaction from Coach Andy Klepper:
We were excited to learn we have been chosen for the Clubs FORE Youth program. I was in class and our AD Robert Barry called me. He told me we had been chosen and we were both pumped up for the girls. When Amber Bogle arrived to deliver the equipment, you could see how passionate she was about the game of golf. I appreciate the continued support from PGA Reach Nebraska. Our team now feels a responsibility to help grow the game along with improving our own games.

Wood River High School
Reaction from Coach James Kuebler:
This means so much to me and the organization as a whole. Not only will my team now have technology that meets its ability level, but the presentation assembly generated several other interested young ladies who would like to pick up the game. The new bags and carts ensure that these competitors will no longer either need to rely on old, wobbly, dated pull carts occasionally available at various area courses. Oftentimes this past season, my team was the only one carrying their clubs, which undoubtedly negatively affected their stamina and ability to compete on a level playing field.

Kearney Catholic High School
Reaction from Athletic Director Rick Petri:
Our team's selection for Clubs FORE Youth is a huge blessing and truly an honor. This will allow us to provide an opportunity to provide great equipment to those girls who do not currently have any or to those whose equipment may be sub-par. We hope this will provide the impetus to grow our program and encourage more girls to play this life long sport!
The club drop-off presentations have kicked off and they’ve nearly been completed over the course of the past two weeks.
This initiative is more than just about providing equipment—it’s about fostering opportunity, confidence, and community through golf.
Nebraska PGA’s Executive Director David Honnens, PGA has had the pleasure to be a part of several club presentations this month.
“We’re incredibly excited to continue expanding Clubs FORE Youth across the Section,” said Honnens. “Each year, we see the real impact this program has—not just on the students, but on their schools, coaches, and communities. It’s opening doors and growing the game where it matters most.”
Once all club drop-offs are completed, the PGA REACH Nebraska team will work with Nebraska PGA Professionals to complete golf camps with each of the recipients, adding to the value of the program.
PGA REACH Nebraska is committed to this program for years to come and we look forward to the continued support from donors and communities as we continue to make a positive impact on people’s lives through the game of golf. Stay tuned on our social media channels at @pgareachneb for updates as the program continues to make a dramatic impact.
