LINCOLN, NE – PGA REACH Nebraska is proud to acknowledge Marion Bendon (Omaha, NE) and Greg Davis (Kearney, NE) for their dedicated service and commitment as Foundation Board Members. Collectively the two served over 10 years and their efforts have the impacted thousands of lives through the game of golf. Both Marion and Greg have played an instrumental role in the growth of PGA REACH Nebraska over the past several years.
Marion Bendon has been with PGA REACH Nebraska since its inception in 2014. Marion has always had a love for the game of golf and is very passionate about helping people in the community, making her the perfect match for our Foundation. “Marion is our go-getter on the Board. She was constantly pushing us all to be better and thinking creatively on how we can serve those in need through the game of golf” says Bob Danenhauer, Director of Development for the Foundation. Marion served 7 years on the board for PGA REACH Nebraska. Her love for the game was always on display during PGA REACH Nebraska’s annual Pro-Am Golf Tournament. “The Pro-Am is Marion’s Super Bowl,” says Seth Scollard, Managing Director. “She has played a key role to the success of this event since the beginning”. Last year the PGA REACH Nebraska Pro-Am event set a record and raised over $50,000, and that wouldn’t have been possible without Marion.
Greg Davis represented Central Nebraska very well with his time as a PGA REACH Nebraska Board of Director. Throughout the years he engaged the communities around him and played a key role in implementing the Foundations programs in Central Nebraska. Knowing the importance and the impact golf can have on junior golfers, Greg introduced the Golf-N-Schools program in the area. Golf-N-Schools is a modified form of golf at elementary schools across our Section that introduces the game of golf to the Youth. Over the past 5 years, this program has reached thousands of junior golfers and exposed them to the benefits the game of golf has. During his time on the board, Greg served on the Grants Committee and helped provide over $18,000 worth of grants to local communities that share their passion for positively impacting lives through the game of golf. “Greg is a very passionate guy and is always putting the community’s best interest first,” says David Honnens, Executive Director of the Nebraska PGA. Greg Davis served 4 years as a Board of Director for PGA REACH Nebraska.
