Presented by Club Car (Nebraska Golf & Turf), The Field Club of Omaha hosted 22 duos of Nebraska PGA Professionals for the 2022 Nebraska PGA Senior/Junior Championship. Each team of two was made up of one Professional older than 50 years of age and one Professional younger than 49 years of age and the format was one best-ball.

Within the first hour of the shotgun start, 2022 Nebraska Senior PGA Professional Champion Ted DiGiacomo, PGA of Golf Galaxy/Happy Hollow Club made an ace on No. 17. The shot by DiGiacomo got him and his teammate Cody Troudt of Riverside Golf Club to 3-under and the streak continued. They went on to birdie their next four holes to get to 7-under through their first 10 holes. DiGiacomo and Troudt went on to finish at 9-under par (58) for the day.

Playing in the same group, teammates Mark Baumann, PGA of Eagle Hills GC and Andrew Storm, PGA of Shadow Ridge CC played steady throughout the day before they went on a birdie streak of their own. The duo was 5-under through 13 holes and they birdied four of the final five to match their playing partners at 9-under. DiGiacomo/Troudt and Storm/Baumann went to No. 18 for a sudden death playoff to decide our champion.

On the first playoff hole, Baumann put his second shot to roughly 10 feet from out of the trees setting up a birdie putt to win it. Baumann found the bottom of the cup after one of the shots of the day. Andrew Storm and Mark Baumann took home matching trophies after their impressive victory at The Field Club of Omaha.
