Valley, NE – Presented by Club Car and Nebraska Golf & Turf, The Pines Country Club played host to 41 teams of Nebraska PGA Professionals for one of the marquee events of the season: the Pro/Assistant Championship. The tournament featured a 36-hole continuous best-ball format, where teams of two counted their best score on each hole.

Teams were primarily made up of Professionals from the same facility, with rosters carefully crafted to meet PGA classification guidelines. Each duo included at least one member holding an A-9, A-13, A-4 or A-1 classification, and a second teammate classified as either A-8 or B-8. Many Professionals competed on multiple teams based on these criteria, adding extra intrigue to the leaderboard.

A shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. kicked off the action under overcast skies and mild temperatures—ideal scoring conditions. Wasting no time in capitalizing were TJ Loudner, PGA, and Brody Weber of Stone Creek Golf Course. Starting on hole No. 9, the pair opened with a birdie, then continued their hot streak with birdies on No. 10 and No. 11. Joining them in the same group were their fellow Stone Creek GC teammates, Connor Farrell, PGA, and Zach Lehechka.

Just two strokes behind the early leaders sat Mitch Klooz and Jon Moore, PGA, of Champions Run, who posted an impressive opening-round 66 (-6). Klooz, last year’s champion alongside Greg Neujahr, PGA, once again had his facility in contention for the title.

As the afternoon round unfolded, Loudner and Weber refused to take their foot off the gas. They added birdies on No. 10 and No. 13 before an electrifying stretch that sealed their win. After back-to-back birdies on No. 16 and No. 17, Loudner drained a 40-foot eagle putt on the par-5 18th to extend their lead to five strokes. From there, it was smooth sailing.

With a combined score of 15-under, Loudner and Weber captured the 2025 Pro/Assistant Championship in dominant fashion. Klooz and Moore held onto a share of second at 10-under, matched by another Stone Creek GC pairing—Loudner and Lehechka—who teamed up in impressive fashion to secure a tie for runner-up.

Rounding out the top performers were Wilderness Ridge Country Club’s Brad Bailey, PGA, and Carson Tatro, PGA, who finished solo fourth at 8-under par.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to General Manager Mike Ten Eyck, PGA, Head Professional Daniel Palmer, PGA, and the entire staff at The Pines Country Club for their outstanding hospitality and event execution. We are also deeply grateful to our presenting sponsor, Club Car (Nebraska Golf & Turf), along with supporting partners Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Bushnell Golf, Mizuno Golf, PRG Golf, Rolex, and the PGA Tour for helping make this championship a success.

With the Pro/Assistant Championship in the books, the Nebraska Section PGA turns its attention to next week’s Pro-Am event at Landmand Golf Club as the momentum of the 2025 season continues to build.
