Vermeer Tames Blustery Conditions To Claim Low Professional Title At Club Car/Callaway Golf Pro-3Am
Lincoln, NE – Blustery conditions and even a dust storm warning could not slow down Ryan Vermeer, PGA of Tiburon G.C. from posting a tournament best four-under-par 68 to capture the Club Car/Callaway Golf Pro-Am at Hillcrest C.C. Vermeer took advantage of the down-wind holes and made an eagle on the par 4 sixth hole and par 5 11th hole. Vermeer also added four birdies on his round but a couple of untimely bogeys prevented a truly special round. Chasing Vermeer was fellow teaching professional, Jon Petersen, PGA of Tiburon G.C. who shot a very solid round of one-under-par 71 to finish solo second. Last week’s low professional, Steve Friesen of Firethorn G.C. got his round off to a hot start with an outward nine of three-under-par 33 but coming home was a different story and resulted in a one-over-par round of 73 rounding out the top three.
