Schellpeper And Herron Lead Field At Harris Golf Cars Pro-Am

Council Bluffs, IA. – Nebraska Section PGA Professionals and their amateur members and guests were treated to some terrific course conditions at the Harris Golf Cars Pro-Am supported by National Car Rental at Bent Tree G.C.  However, with winds gusting a steady 20+ mph all day and a healthy fescue Bent Tree G.C. show how difficult the course can play.  Two players, Kyle Schellpeper, PGA of Oak Hills C.C. and Justin Herron of Pacific Spring G.C. and past Wells Fargo Nebraska Open Champion returned to form with an impressive one-under-par 71 and tie for low professional honors.  Both players struggled to find their game on their outward nines but on their inward nine it was a different story.  Schellpepper went on a season best birdie run of five in a row on holes 12-16 to finish with an inward nine of two-under-par 34.  Herron’s scorecard was filled with 3’s as he made six of them on his inward nine to post a season best nine hole score of five-under-par 31.  Rounding out the top three was Kevin Drew, PGA of the Field Club of Omaha and Ryan Vermeer, PGA of Happy Hollow Club who finished tied for third at even-par 72.
