Kruse and DiGiacomo Capture Mizuno Pro/Assistants Championship
Omaha, NE. – Weather played a factor in multiple attempts this season to play one of the Nebraska PGA Majors – Mizuno Pro/Assistant Championship at The Players Club at Deer Creek. However, third time was a charm for the team of Tim Kruse, PGA and Ted DiGiacomo, PGA of Golf Galaxy – Omaha as they posted a tournament best of 10-under-par 61 in best-ball format. Kruse and DiGiacomo got off to a hot start by birding their three out of their first four holes. DiGiacomo made an eagle on the par 4 17th hole and capped off their inward nine with a birdie on the par 5 18th hole. Kruse made some timely putts and made back to back birdies on the par 4 fourth and fifth holes to help secure the victory. Past Champions, Scott Harmelink, PGA and Nick Wanderscheid, PGA of Green Valley G.C. got off to a hot start but ultimately came up two strokes short to finish with a tremendous round of eight-under-par 63 and a solo second place finish. Rounding out the top three was past champions, Jim White, PGA MP and Greg Johannesen, PGA of the Links of Lincoln with an impressive round of seven-under-par 64.
