Petersen and Vermeer Capture Mizuno Pro/Assistants Championship

Omaha, NE. – Near perfect scoring conditions welcomed one of the largest Pro/Assistants field in years at the Mizuno Pro/Assistants Championship at Oak Hills Country Club.  The 36-hole best ball event featured many birdies and eagles made by a lot of teams but in the end, the defending champions, Jon Petersen, PGA and Ryan Vermeer of Tiburon Golf Course posted a tournament best 20-under-par 122 to capture the title.  After the morning round, Bobby O’Keefe, PGA and Kyle Schellpeper, PGA of Oak Hills C.C. used some home course knowledge to post an impressive nine-under-par 63 and trailed the tandem of Petersen and Vermeer by one shot.  In the afternoon round, Petersen and Vermeer got on a roll and post 10-under-par 60 to pull away from the field and captured there third Pro/Assistants Championship.  Finishing a distant second was the team of O’Keefe and Schellpeper of Oak Hills C.C. at 10-under-par and past champions Scott Harmelink, PGA and Nick Wanderscheid, PGA of Green Valley G.C.
