#ThxPGAPro Campaign Kicks Off At Newly Renovated Oak Hills Country Club
Omaha, NE – Nebraska Section PGA Professionals and their amateur guests kicked off our annual #ThxPGAPro Campaign at newly renovated Oak Hills C.C. Unfortunately, mother-nature had other ideas as only 20 teams finished. Despite these adverse weather conditions, Chris Wiemers, PGA of Stone Creek G.C. and Steve Friesen of Firethorn G.C. posted impressive rounds of one-under-par 70 to tie for low professional honors. Wiemers got off to a hot start by posting three-under-par 33 on his outward nine. However, the newly renovated inward nine was a tough test as winds picked up in the afternoon and resulted in a two-over-par 37 for Wiemers. Friesen had a chance to win the tournament but an untimely bogey on his 18th hole cost him the chance from claiming the low professional title outright. Devon Kastler, PGA of Ashland G.C. has his best finish of the season by posting one-over-par 72 to earn solo third. Scott Holly, PGA of UNL-PGM Program also had his best finish of the season by finishing fourth at two-over-par 73. Jim White, PGA MP continues to play well as he posted a three-over-par 74 to win the senior professional division.
